The eighth season of the Pakistan Super League, also known as PSL 8 or, for sponsorship purposes, HBL PSL 2023, will take place in 2023. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched the franchise Twenty20 cricket league in 2015.
For the 2023 edition of the competition, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had suggested an auction-based approach to replace the draft, but the draft was kept. The draft for the competition took place on December 15 in Karachi. Along with domestic players, a total of 36 international players were chosen. The tournament is scheduled to take place from February 13 to March 19, 2023.

Islamabad United
Islamabad United (ISLU) is a professional Twenty20 cricket franchise team from Pakistan that participates in the Pakistan Super League and has won the PSL title twice. The Pakistan Cricket Board’s establishment of the Pakistan Super League resulted in the founding of the team in 2015. (PCB). The franchise is owned by Leonine Global Investments through its sports entity, Leonine Global Sports.
The team is currently captained by Pakistan’s veteran right-arm speedster Mohammad Sami and coached by former Australian player Dean Jones while the former Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis is the director of the team and Saeed Ajmal as the spin bowling coach.
