The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) launched the franchise Twenty20 cricket league in 2015.
For the 2023 edition of the competition, former PCB chairman Ramiz Raja had suggested an auction-based approach to replace the draft, but the draft was kept. The draft for the competition took place on December 15 in Karachi. Along with domestic players, a total of 36 international players were chosen. Multan Sultans
Multan Sultans, a Pakistani professional Twenty20 franchise cricket team, participates in the Pakistan Super League on behalf of Multan, a city in southern Pakistan (PSL). The franchise was established in 2017 as the PSL’s sixth new team. The team plays its home matches at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Schön Properties, who acquired the team in 2017, failed to pay the team’s annual fee after their first season, and their contract was terminated. The squad was acquired by a group led by Alamgir Khan Tareen, the majority stakeholder, and Ali Khan Tareen in December 2018. In 2021, Alamgir Khan Tareen took over as the sole owner. The team won its first PSL title in the 2021 season.
